Cody Rahders race report from the Lucas Oil Regional Series So Cal
02/18/15 El Cajon, CA– “2015 brings a new season to the Lucas Oil Regional Off Road Series and Cody Rahders the opportunity to follow up his 2014 Production 1000 Championship title. Unfortunately, a part failure with a lap and a half to go caused him to go from leading the first 12 laps to finishing 24th overall in the 14 lap main event.
Coming into Round 1 Cody showed up with a new Polaris Sponsored RZR XP1000 that had .3 miles on it. With a few delays and no testing he was forced to get it right the first time out. Cody installed his new Justin Lambert redesigned Cognito Motorsports cage, suspension and accessories. He then valved his new Fox shocks and sprung them with PAC Springs. A new pipe and engine parts from Sparks Racing were added, a seat from Twisted Stitch, brakes from Streamline, filters from K&N, and he headed to the track where in his qualifier he placed fifth out of 33 cars. The car was that close right out of the box.
In the main due to the inversion, Cody stared on the front row, moved into the lead by turn two, then lead the next twelve laps unchallenged. In fact, at one point he led the field by an entire straight away. Unfortunately on a green/white/checker restart Cody entered the un-rhythm section a little sideways and the right rear hub failed ending his day.
“The car is fast, I was surprised how close we got it on the first try and once we put on some new GMZ tires for the main I could put it anywhere on the track I wanted. I know what broke, why, and how to fix it. I’m ready for round 2.
Cody Rahders Racing would like to thank his sponsors for their support for the 2014 season; Polaris, Cognito Motorsports, Fox Shox, Sparks Racing, GMZ Race Products, Method Wheels, K&N Filters, Superchips, Black Rhino, RacerX Motorsports, Twisted Stitch seats, Streamline Performance, JDM Fotos, and the UTVunderground. Also my spotter Nick Novak, mechanics Kevin Sullivan and Jon Kelly, my parents and my girlfriend Regina.”
