El Cajon, CA June 26, 2019- Making her first ever appearance on this track, Mia journeyed to Southern California for the Lucas Oil Regional at San Bernardino Fairgrounds. Mia had high hopes to finish at the top of the field after fighting little issues with her car since the start of the season. She battled hard during the qualifying rounds and ended up in the 2nd spot on both days. “The car felt good, I found my rhythm and was happy to qualify in 2nd”, said Mia. This gave her positive motivation going into each day’s race.
Starting out strong in both day’s placing rounds, Mia pulled ahead of the pack early on and battled hard for the lead finishing 2nd place overall. “Mia did very well in her race. Our team has been putting in a ton of time dialing in the car”, said Joe Chapman, Mia’s father and mechanic. The field of drivers were competitive proving to be a great challenge and gave Mia a glimpse at what the rest of the series has to offer.
With the next stop at Glen Helen Raceway on July13th, Joe has positive expectations. “We still have some things to sort out before then but we are positive we will make the necessary adjustment and be ready for race day!”
